Building the full proposal costs credits, and you always see the exact number before anything is spent, never after. The cost scales with the size of the solicitation: a simple one runs about 5 credits, roughly $25, and a bigger one runs more. The reading, the drafting and the form-filling are done by our software, the same way every time. What's different right now is that a person on our side walks it through with you instead of you driving the screens yourself. We ask you the questions about your company, and the software writes from your answers. The self-serve version is being finished, and this is how we run it until then.

It's also why we ask for time. Give us at least 7 days before the bid is due, or 10 if a bond or MBE/WBE participation is required. Nothing about the promise changes: it writes only from your contract and your answers, you set your own price, and you read every page before you sign it.

Scout is built to never invent anything. It writes only from your actual contract and the answers you give it. If it doesn't have a fact, it doesn't make one up, it leaves a blank for you to fill and asks you for it.

And nothing is final until you say so. You review every section before it goes into your proposal, and nothing goes to the agency at all until you print it, sign it, and deliver it yourself. Your name is on the bid, so you always have the last read.

Once you've answered our questions, your packet comes back within 72 hours. Most of the remaining wait is paperwork only you can get: the bid bond, the insurance certificate, the notary stamp. So send the solicitation with at least 7 days on it, and 10 if a bond or MBE/WBE participation is required. Under that we'll still send you the free read, and we'll tell you straight that it's too tight to build properly.

When it's built you have a complete package: the narrative, the filled-out forms, and a checklist so nothing required is missing. You review it, add your price, print it, sign it by hand, get it notarized where the forms say so, and deliver it the way the solicitation says.

A bid holds the two things you'd least want a competitor to see: what you charge and how you'd do the work. So every project in Bidographer is sealed to your own account, kept in a database dedicated to Bidographer, and never pooled with anyone else's. Your numbers never touch another vendor's screen.
